What Is My Reading Buddy: A Buddy-a-Thon Program?

The My Reading Buddy! Program is an engaging reading fundraiser that empowers students to reach their reading goals while generating vital support for their school. With personalized reading minutes tracked via our convenient portals, students can earn rewards and achieve recognition for their dedication.

Here’s How It Works

1. Kick-off Presentation: We start with a lively live kick-off presentation at your school, where our team will unveil the thrill of the My Reading Buddy! A detailed parent letter is sent home with students explaining the My Reading Buddy! Program, outlining its goals and benefits.
2. Registration Process: Parents scan the QR code, register their student, and are encouraged to send out 10+ emails to family and friends. Each student who registers and sends their 10 emails receives a special bookmark prize in addition to two other awesome registration prizes!
3. Donation Tracking: Our platform meticulously tracks all donations. Students who raise $50 in donations earn their very own Reading Buddy! Additional prizes await those who receive more donations.
4. Certificates and Rewards: Students who meet their reading goals are rewarded with a certificate of achievement. Those who meet their goals and earn a Reading Buddy through donations will also receive a special My Reading Buddy! shirt for their buddy.
5. Teacher Incentives: Every classroom teacher with at least 50% participation (10 emails sent per student) will receive a complimentary classroom Reading Buddy!

What Counts Toward a Student's Reading Goals?

Students can enhance their reading skills through various activities, including:
  • Reading Books, Magazines, or Graphic Novels
  • Listening to Audiobooks
  • Being read to by a Teacher, Parent, or Other Adult
